Did you know that in every moment, there is potential for impact?
I have been so humbled and overwhelmed by God as I spent the last week in Arizona with my family. If you know me, then you know that if I am going to do something, I do it with all of my heart. Sometimes I feel like I cannot express in any human form, just how much I love and care.
In the summers of 2008 and 2009, I spent all of my energy, all of my heart and all of my passion on a few middle school and high school kids in Tucson, AZ. Four years later, I wasn’t sure that it had made much of an impact. All I knew was that I had given it all, and maybe I’d see the results several years down the road if not in heaven.
Well, I love the goodness of God. He is so considerate and so kind to me.
While I was in Tucson last week, I got to catch up with two high school boys, who each have an incredibly special place in my heart. I have always loved them so dearly, but didn’t realize the impact that was made. As I met with them, I felt like God was taking me to a secret place in heaven…showing me how some little seeds fell on good soil and took root. And not only that, but when I left Tucson 3 years ago, those roots were nurtured and cared for and have produced strength and courage and character!
Needless to say, I am so humbled. And honored. And FULL of joy.
So, first meet Tyler.
This picture was taken on a youth camp trip about 3 years ago…
He is now a senior in high school and wants to be a doctor. I can’t even begin to write about all the amazing things Tyler will do in his life.
Best part of it is that he loves God with all of his heart. And he is hungry for more of God and the things of His kingdom. To say that talking with him last week was a blessing is an understatement!
Then, meet River.
Seriously, one of the funniest people I know. On that same youth camp trip, he made a music video on my computer to Boom Boom Pow by The Black Eyed Peas.
Again, I can’t express how much I adore River. He is 15 years old and loves people SO WELL! He is leading and playing in a youth band and his heart is for everything to be about God.
Everyone he meets in life is going to be ridiculously blessed, because it is just who he is.
TRULY, truly my cup runs over!
Even the most simple moments carried impact. And when I wasn’t trying to influence or make a huge difference but simply loving, is when things stuck. And I can’t thank God enough for showing me the significance of those tiny seeds and silly moments.
You never know when they’ll land on some good soil!
I am beyond blessed.
